Janet Reno, former attorney general of the United States, will speak at Colorado State University about the importance of and her lifelong commitment to public service. Reno will speak at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Lory Student Center Main Ballroom. The event is open to the public. Reno was appointed the 78th attorney general of the United States, and she served in that post from 1993 until the end of the Clinton administration in 2001, making her the longest-serving attorney general since the Civil War and a prominent figure during the Clinton administration.

This integration is consolidating parking and police services in an ongoing effort to provide the best possible service to Colorado State students, staff, faculty and visitors. It is estimated that more than half of all Americans take some type of dietary supplement. According to the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act approved by Congress in 1994, the term "dietary supplement" refers to a wide range of products including vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, hormones, concentrates, extracts and metabolites taken orally that contain an ingredient meant to supplement the diet. Currently, there are about 30,000 products marketed in the United States as dietary supplements, making the industry worth more than $17 billion per year.

Colorado State University's Community Collaborative Rain and Hail Study, or CoCo RaHS, is inviting weather-watching volunteers to an information and training session from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Colorado State Foothills campus on West Laporte Avenue in the Atmospheric Science Building, Room AT101. CoCo RaHS relies on volunteers to improve precipitation monitoring throughout seven counties in the Denver-Metro area. The training session is free and open to the public.

Colorado State University's NASA CloudSat mission today signed an international memorandum of understanding with the Thailand Research Fund that will join Thai students and scientists with CloudSat scientists at Colorado State. The students will actively collect scientifically relevant data on clouds and precipitation, and the information will be made available to CloudSat scientists to support the satellite's radar data.
