Colorado State's Environmental Learning Center Hosts Father-Daughter Science Event Nov. 7

FORT COLLINS - Colorado State University’s Environmental Learning Center is hosting a nature program for fathers and daughters to engage in the outdoors and learn more about women in science from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at the center’s Drake site in Fort Collins.

Daughters, ages 8-12, and their fathers will take a GPS-guided tour of Fort Collins stopping at five environmental sites. At each site, dads and daughters will be greeted by women scientists from various CSU departments who will share the influence of women in the sciences.

Hands-on science activities will be available throughout the tour helping girls develop a comfort with science-based skills.

Registration for the event is required. ELC members can participate for free and non-members are $10 per pair. Register online at http://warnercnr.colostate.edu/programs/youth-and-family-programs.html.
