President of United Financial to Address Securities Markets at Colorado State University October 22
FORT COLLINS - The president and CEO of United Financial will share his insights on how mortgages impact Wall Street at a presentation hosted by Colorado State's College of Business.
Carl de Rozario, an expert in a broad range of mortgage-related securities, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in Room 170 Rockwell Hall.
Mortgage backed securities and other derivatives in the capital market will be the main focus of the presentation, which is part of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America speaker series this fall. The series has been designed to bring industry leaders into the classroom and provide mortgage and finance expertise to the business community.
De Rozario, who also served as the vice president for structured finance at U.S. Bancorp, has over 18 years of experience in the securities industry. He also founded a Denver-based brokerage firm, where he served as president and managed all fixed income trading.
The speaker series is part of a grant from the MBAA to the Finance and Real Estate Department to combine existing undergraduate academic programs and focus directly on an initiative to encourage students to prepare for careers in the real estate finance industry. Through the grant, students will be provided with skills and background to understand the fundamentals of commercial real estate assets and their role in today's capital markets. Colorado State students will be prepared for a technology driven market where Main Street mortgage bankers are influenced by Wall Street capital markets.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Participants will also have time to meet personally with de Rozario.
