Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Colorado State to Announce Partnership to Develop Oil from Algae
What:
On Thursday, Dec. 7, Solix Biofuels Inc. and the Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory in Colorado State University's College of Engineering will announce a partnership to develop a system that will mass produce oil from algae as a solution to the nation's emerging oil crisis.
Where/when:
10:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at Colorado State's Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory, 430 N. College Ave. in Fort Collins.
Directions from Denver: Take I-25 north to Mulberry/Colo. 14 exit and turn west. Take Mulberry Street about four miles to Riverside Avenue and turn right. Take Riverside to College Avenue and turn right. The engines lab is on your right in the old Fort Collins power plant.
Details:
Other partners attending the event include representatives from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, which has conducted extensive algae-to-oil research, and New Belgium Brewing Co., which will have a role in the Solix/Colorado State partnership. Solix is one of many businesses working with Colorado State because of the university's leadership in developing clean and renewable energy technology.
